Print & Press Guide
Something not right with your transfers?
Find what you're seeing below. Every entry shows what causes it, whether it's something to adjust at your press or something we need to fix on our end, and exactly what happens next. Most issues here are solved in under five minutes — no replacement needed.
Check your press first
Most home and hobby presses read 15–30°F hotter than they actually are. A $12 infrared thermometer settles it in seconds.
Test on a scrap
Always press one small piece on the same fabric first. One test saves a whole run.
Photograph it
Show us which pieces are affected. A clear photo in daylight gets your reprint moving the same day.
When your order arrives — open the box straight away
Transfers travel sealed, and sealed film holds moisture. Open the box as soon as it lands, take the sheets out and let them breathe for an hour before pressing or storing them. Keep them flat, cool and dry — never in a garage, a car, or anywhere humid. Trapped moisture is the single most common cause of tacky, patchy or unreliable transfers.
Press settings by fabric
Tap your fabric. Most fabrics are hot peel — heat-sensitive ones need a cooler peel, so check before you pull. These are starting points; always test on a scrap first.
Still not sure what you're looking at?
That's completely fine — some faults look almost identical and only tell themselves apart up close. Send us a photo and we'll tell you honestly which side it's on. If it's ours, we reprint the affected pieces. No argument, no restocking games.
